A little more detail:

I started my path into photography while in high school where the mechanics of the camera and film processing within the darkroom were taught.  I furthered my photography education in college where composition, lighting, and formal posing were extensively taught.  

Even though I obtained an extensive formal education in photography, the greatest lessons in classical fine art portraiture came from mentoring under many nationally renowned photographers. For a number of years I was a member of PPA (Professional Photographers Association) and VPPA (Virginia Professional Photographers Association).
